Sorry for the delay.
We have a procedure in place for unlocking the iPhone 4s for the interim while the main points of the procedure are locked down. (The below is subject to review at any time)
PAYG – Standards terms and conditions apply, once you top up by €130 you can request the code through customer care.
Bill Pay –If you are looking for a code for your phone please contact our customer care team and they can advise you on your eligibility for the code. However, in most cases (99.9999999% of the time), it can only be given out at the end of a contract. If you are out of contract please give us a call with the following:
And we can get you the code.
Couple of points to note:
- Apple will unlock the phone but you must synch the phone to iTunes to confirm this has been done.
- If you put in an alternative SIM card after you unlock the phone, in certain cases the phone will lock to that SIM cards network. In this case you may have to contact that network for the NUC. (I'm waiting on full confirmation of this).

Read that iPhone unlock procedure is available as of today on this forum.
Rang customer care and spoke to James.
Was told that Meteor do not unlock iPhones and that the only way to do it is to request it from Apple myself and that this has been Meteors policy for the past 9months!
I told him this was not the case and to check these forums. He replied that what I said was wrong and there was no such procedure or plan to put it in place.
I then asked for supervisor only be told he wasn't available but might be later.
He refused to be of any further help.
So I decided to ring Apple who of course say that there is no way that I can request an unlock code myself and that it must be done through Meteor!
Waste of both Apples and my time.

Quote from Steven's How to unlock your iPhone thread.
I need clarification on the above. If I buy a phone sim free or from another network and put my Meteor sim in it you are saying it will become locked to Meteor? Thats just plain outrageous!
Please enlighten as to why you would 1) Lock my phone to your network 2) Require me to contact you to unlock my already unlocked phone 3) How you would expect other networks to unlock phones purchased from your network?
Thanks in advance,

This is not a network feature, it's a feature of the handset AFAIK. As above I've asked for this to be confirmed before I leave it in for definite.
Thanks for the reply. I'm also checking this with Apple & Comreg.

I have a Iphone 4 under contract. I don't like the phone and have given it to my daughter who wants to use it on another network.
Is it possible to get the unlocking code for her. Obviously my 2 year contract still stands as i am using a different phone on it.

I have been waiting 72 hours for a supervisor to contact me from meteor. This is supposed to happen within 48 hours.
Anyone else have the same problem.
