Hi all,

With the release of the HTC Hero, will the Android Market be opened up so we can access the pay-for apps as well as the free ones?

Many thanks,
Jim

Hi Gleth,

Unfortunately at the minute the paid apps aren't available in Ireland. As of yet Google havn't made these available in Ireland. As the Androd market grows I'm sure these will become available to the Irish market. If I hear any developments on this I'll let you all know.

Hope this helps

Glynn

In the interim i suggest you get the slideme app (http://slideme.org/) and join that. There is A LOT of rubbish on there because app submissions aren't really moderated, but there are a few gems which you should get like speedforge, flying aces, and radiant to name a couple. Also, if there's an app on the android paid market you cant get, you can often just email the developer (or post on their blog, whatever), and more often than not they'll place the app on slideme.

That or you could root your device and get the "market enabler app" which gives access to paid apps....but i wouldnt recommend it cuz it voids your phone's warranty and that would just be silly risking your brand new shiny phone!

Thanks Glynn.

I hope it won't be long before Google do change things.

Have Fun,
Gleth.
